Saying goodbye to Costa Rica
Today I packed my stuff and we went on a bumpy four hour ride from Leaves and Lizards to a Hilton in Liberia. In the middle of the drive we went to Eco-Thermals, a hot springs. It was kind of boring for me but at least my parents enjoyed it. Then we came to the Hilton it was very nice. After we arrived we went to the pool. My parents taught me how to dive better. Then we went to a non-tourist Costa Rican dinner. The Costa Ricans were having some sort of street party with a lot of music. So we got to enjoy Costa Rican music while we ate. I do not like that I am leaving.

Hmmm...veeeery interesting. Liberia? Isn't that, like, in Africa? Guess there must be a second Liberia I didn't know about.
ReplyDeleteYeah, hot springs are pretty boring unless you've got a friend with you...if you get my drift. ;)
The music and food sounds great! Wish I was there!
Love,
Uncle Steve
Hey Hunter, I have just finished reading your excellent blog. Sounds like you guys had an amazing trip in Costa Rica. We will have to compare notes when you visit in April. When we went to CR, we went to very different places (Tortuguero National Park, Monteverde and on the Pacific coast). We all want to return soon - perhaps concentrate out time solely in Tortugeuro National Park where a species (maybe 2) of sea turtles breed. On those days, we took a boat into the deep jungle. Waterways and byways went on for miles and miles under dense, cool jungle. We saw caimen, sloth, spiders, snakes & a species of monkey (not Howler, whose sounds I love) fighting with an iguana high up in the trees. The iguana won, in the end, by tail-slapping the monkeys & then throwing himself way down to the jungle floor at which point the monkeys gave up. We stayed at Tortuga Lodge and it is an eco lodge, too with beautiful, airy rooms, a wonderful dining room & pool overlooking the river and just beyond, the sea (Caribbean side). Anyway, I look forward to hearing more of your stories.
