Saying goodbye to Costa Rica
Today I packed my stuff and we went on a bumpy four hour ride from Leaves and Lizards to a Hilton in Liberia. In the middle of the drive we went to Eco-Thermals, a hot springs. It was kind of boring for me but at least my parents enjoyed it. Then we came to the Hilton it was very nice. After we arrived we went to the pool. My parents taught me how to dive better. Then we went to a non-tourist Costa Rican dinner. The Costa Ricans were having some sort of street party with a lot of music. So we got to enjoy Costa Rican music while we ate. I do not like that I am leaving.
At Leaves and Lizards Volcano Cabin Retreat- March 5th
At seven in the morning I woke up to milk the cows. I also got to pull the eggs from the nest. After that we went horseback riding through the rain forest. On the way we saw a golden eyelash viper snake, it’s very poisonous. Half the way our horses were knee deep in mud. I felt really bad for them. Then we came to a waterfall. The temperature was freezing but I liked it. On the way back I rode a different horse that could canter and gallop; I did both of those things. When we got back we saw a show about volcanoes. We learned that volcanos can blow at any place on the mountain. Some volcanoes can blow themselves up more than Mount Saint Helens did. I hope you enjoyed my blog for today.

On to the rainforest
Today after the five hour car ride to Arenal we came to a clearing where we found several Coati on the side of the road. It is like an anteater and a raccoon mix. After that we arrived at Leaves and Lizards, the bed and breakfast in the mountains with our own cabin. It is an eco farm and it is really cozy. Then we went on a river tour and saw a Sloth, a lot of Toucans, Gray line bats, Howler monkeys, a caiman (small crocodile), Blue jeans poison dart frog, Iguana and a dead coral snake(the poisonous kind). After that we had dinner it was amazing. I have two beds to sleep in tonight. I wonder which one it will be ZZZZZZ…….
Witches Rock Zipline and Playa Del Coco
Today I went ziplining at Witches Rock. When we got there I was really hungry and they only had snacks, so I had a very interesting lunch: it consisted of Pringles, one Drumstick, one ice cream sandwich, and a Snapple drink. Then we went to Playa Hermosa beach. I was enjoying the beach so much that I got my mom to let me stay another thirty minutes. Next we went to Playa Del Coco. It is a scruffy little beach town. Ie found a place that sells machetes and I really wanted to get one for my sword collection. On our way back from El Coco we saw howler monkeys on the side of the road. They were eating the leaves off of a tree. One had a baby on it's back. There were about 10 of them and they less than 5 feet away from us. I thought that was really cool!

March 2, 2010
Today I went on the Congo Trail Zipline, about 10 minute drive from the hotel. A zipline is basically where you get attached to a cable using the harness to hold you up. You roll down the cable from platforms in the trees… sometimes you get to do tricks like today I did the Superman (imagine flying and you get the picture), and the Spiderman (where you put your feet up near the cable and hang upside down) and the recliner, where you lean back and look at the sky. My favorite was the Spiderman. We saw a Howler monkey in the trees, and 2 dogs that liked coming up on the platforms with us. There were 11 platforms that we went to. We learned that parrots like to take over termite nests (that at in the trees)—The parrots lay their eggs there because the termite nest is a perfect incubator. We saw fire ant on the plants, and had to be careful, because they live in the thorns of this plant.
After we were done with the zipline we went to a petting with squirrel monkeys, boa constrictors, lots of butterflies and chickens. The monkeys climbed all over us and bit our hair. They were very nice, and their hands were really soft and little. They ate sunflower seeds out of my hand. The boa constrictor was a teenager, about 2 feet long…I put it around my neck. It was shiny and cool. The rest of the afternoon I played in the pool and did my math homework.

Day 4
Today I went scuba diving at 8:30 am. It was really fun. Before I went diving I had to put on a wetsuit and I got really hot. So I turned on the hose and I put it down the wetsuit. Since it was tight it filled up and my legs were as big as a basketballs. What I saw when I was scuba diving; pufferfish, a manta ray, diffrent tipes of angle fish, a wrasse, two kinds of sea urchins and other fish I can't name. We also saw a Red Lored Parrot and it's nest and Howler monkeys. I am so sunburned i look like a lobster. I slept the rest of the day.
P.S. I am going ziplining tomorrow. so I don't get sunburned.
P.P.S i will post more pictures tomorrow.
