Day 2

Saturday Feb 27, 2010

Last night we saw a dance performance... original dances from Costa Rica.
The music was a little loud, but it was good.  When we got here we saw a
huge hotel with it's own mini-mart.  It's so hot here there are no doors in
many of the rooms, the ceilings are huge, like 4-5 doors tall in the lobby.
The first day we were here, there was scuba equipment in the pool and I
tried it.  I really liked it so I'm getting my junior dive certification.  I
learned all the hand signals for diving and how to clear my mask
underwater.  I learned how to buddy breath and how to make rings of bubbles
on the bottom of the pool. On Monday I will do my first dive in the
ocean--kinda cool, a little scary.  Yesterday I wanted to boogey board, but
we got there too late, and today they closed the beach to swimming because
there was a Tsunami off the coast of Chile.  A Tsunami is a huge wave, over
50 feet tall that was made by an earthquake underwater.  Hopefully I'll get
to go in tomorrow.

Excitement is Building-- 48 hours to Blast off

Hunter will be writing this blog once we leave-- but for now he's anxiously awaiting our red eye flight to northern Costa Rica for 6 days on the Guanacaste coast, then 3 days at a wildlife refuge and mountain retreat in Arenal, next to the second most active volcano in the world.  I hope he gets to see the lava flow at night.  That is such a thrill (I got up close and personal with lava during a stay on Hawaii in the 90's).  Stay tuned.  You'll be hearing from Hunter very soon!  Luna
